Why WE lost.

Theo led us, like lambs to the slaughter by forgetting that we make our own magic. We fell silent: no "Let's Go Red Sox," much less "Tessie."    With "Tessie", the Red Sox Nation finally took up the Royal Rooters' rally cry, and WE - the RSN - discovered WE could make our own magic. I hate the word "mojo", but we left our magic behind, and by not believing in ourselves, we didn't show up to be the team's extra man on the roster. Our Captain was shut out; JBay, Mikey, Gonzi, & Pap had feet of Clay; and RSN forgot how to fill that Elijah seat the way the Rooters did. After the World War and the H1N1 pandemic, the Royal Rooters disbanded. It took 86 years, the life's blood of a Texan, and God Himself turning the Moon to Blood over Saint Louis - the sight of the death of a Triple Crown winner's Impossible Dream - to break the Curse of the House that Ruth Built. The Angels avenging Us would be vengance against the curse of the House that Steinbrener Built. We have to make our own magic now. Theo won't make it for us....
